Here you will post different items for others to comment on, that relate to our book club jobs. Available for posting, but not limited to are:
Summarizer - a short summary of the chapter or chapters that you read
Character Captain - a short description of our main characters; what they're going through and how it's affecting them
Think about the following questions when you do this job?
What kind of person is this character? What's the evidence from the book?
What does this character long for or fear? What's the evidence from the book?
What is the character struggling against? What's the evidence from the book?
What relationships does the character have and how do these relationships play a significant role in the story? What's the evidence from the book?
How does the character change over the course of the story? What's the evidence from the book?
Does the character learn lessons or come to realizations? What's the evidence from the book?
Passage Master - including the chapter the passage is from, give a short description of what the passage was about and a reflection
Question Writer - pose your questions and include the chapter that it relates to
Click on the "Discussion" tab to begin. Your subject line should be a "tag" for the book and the job you did. For example, if I was posting a summary from "Island of the Blue Dolphins", my subject line would read: IBD - summarizer.
If you are commenting on a student's post, keep your comments to what the student did well and what they could improve on, based on the CONTENT of what they wrote. You may also reply to their posts if you have something to add. Remember, this is a tool for learning and sharing. Be kind.
